Info: Rubin had a pretty average childhood, he wasn’t particularly good at anything that he did growing up and all through out school he would just mess around with different things but not really find what he was looking for.

That was until he reached college and started to do a lot of mechanic stuff and it was around this time that he had obtained his powers due to being hit by a very powerful solar powered laser beam that could have ended him right there and then but had not; instead he found that he could shoot fire from his hands.

At first this frightened him because he didn’t want to accidentally hurt someone using his powers but the upside was he could meld metal together without having to use a blowtorch (though he often still had one in hand so he didn’t expose himself as a superhero that he had named Heatwave.
