Astarte is a Goddess, though she prefers the term Deity. She lives in Egypt, specifically Thebes, though will occasionally mention having lived in Syria, and missing her time there.
She is asexual and sex-repulsed. Men in their entirety are often the butt of her jokes, as she detests them entirely. The very mention of a male will curl her lip and furrow her brows. Alternatively, Astarte cannot get enough of other women, though does not have a partner of her own.
On the outside, Astarte is short-tempered, mean-spirited, spiteful, mischevous, proud, and eager to fight. But to some people, she is nurturing, protective, and even playful in her teasing. She enjoys cooking, doing yoga, and crafting jewelry out of beads and seashells. Her favourite food is any kind of spicy curry with ginseng tea, and her favourite colour is chartreuse.
Astarte loves the ocean, but is too hesitant to learn how to swim. She prefers rocky hills and open fields, sandy deserts and secluded oasises. She lives in a large cottage on a rocky outcrop by the sea, where she spends time collecting seashells by the shore, picking wild grapes for wine, and enslaving any man that comes by, putting them to work in the grape vineyard, or in the wheat field. If they refuse to work, Astarte will make her dinner from their meat.
Hae is Astarte's best, and only, friend.
Astarte jokes that she only tolerates Hae, but is openly very protective and sweet towards her.
Astarte will often invite Hae over for dinner and wine, letting her browse through the many novels and papyrus scrolls that Astarte keeps in her cozy attic reading nook.
