Writing's all old and semi-cringe, needs redone

8/28/16. Teagan Ib Savage. A tigertaur with feline polydactyly and tattoo sleeves. He's somewhat on the quiet side, likes to keep to himself, and can be easy to push around. He often dreads social situations, but is okay once he gets there. Was a slave at one point in time. Has very prominent whiskers. His nose is bent a bit and there's a scuffed up spot between his eyes. A lil bit on the thicker side - tiger part tends to get chubby over the winter. To calm himself down/steady himself, he'll grip or pet the fur near his shoulders. A bit apprehensive towards having his coat touched for long periods of time, but he admittedly enjoys it a tad, especially on his sides. He absolutely does not let people on his back, you must have explicate permission. Can be quite affectionate and caring towards those he allows himself to get close to. Likes to sleep outside, provided the weather's okay. Has some shapeshifting magic, enabling him to change a few minor things about his appearance. Can also conjure up some small blue flames and warm water. Sclera are a slightly different purple on top

Was sent to investigate Dieter's house by a gang of thugs. They overheard that he was a shapeshifter, so they thought he'd be perfect. Little did they know, he could only do really tiny things like change his eye color. Because he didn't want to get mauled, he went along with things (reluctantly). They had told him they'd gained info on a few locations where dangerous criminals had been seen. They want to take them down, but first they needed conformation (they didn't want to do it  because they wanted to live). One of the locations ends up being correct and he finds himself stumbling into Dieter's yard. He has the cover of night, but that's all. Most of the family is out on a crime spree, so there's very few drowsy panda people left in the house. He's able to flatten the edges of his claws so they don't click on the floor and pad silently about the house, looking to confirm this is the place. After a while, he's found his evidence, but there's a sudden spike in noise. The group has returned home. Now trapped, he tries to find a way to escape, but he's either too big or the house too crowded. He manages to hide for an impressive amount of time before someone catches him (after suspicions of an intruder were raising) and tie him up in one of the lower basement rooms. They then interrogate him, to which he's very cooperative, spilling all the beans. He figures that if he gets out of here alive, he'll run too far away from the thugs for them to hurt him. He's kept prisoner so he can continue to provide information until the thugs and leaks in info are eliminated. While this is happening, he realizes that Dieter's probably going to kill him since he has the location of his home. Nobody's really paying attention to him anymore and he's left locked up to think about this for a long time. Finally, he slips into despair and gives up any hope of ever seeing the sun again. Little did he know, Pipit had been spying on him. As he started to break down, she decided to slip into the room, catching him off guard. She starts asking him questions about nothing really important and, with nothing better to do, he just answers them to keep his mind off his impending doom. After he admits to why he's so upset, she offers to take him outside "one last time". He was initially doubtful, but decided that he didn't want to let the opportunity slip. So, the two of them went on a walk through the redwoods at about three in the morning. Pipit kept asking him questions and he kept answering (she was especially pleased when he told her his last name was "Savage"). He figured it didn't matter how much he told her at this point, so he didn't really resist anything. She let him have his fill of wandering and sitting by moonlit creeks and lakes before returning him to his prison. They managed to slip though the house unseen...only to find Dieter and a couple other kids investigating the empty cell. When she makes herself known, he insists upon knowing what on earth she's doing...he does have a mess to clean up, after all. She announces that no, he doesn't. She'd decided she wanted to keep this prisoner. Dee was shocked that she hadn't brutally murdered Teagan, much less that she was interested in his company. So, while pretty much everyone was aghast, she trotted away, tiger in tow. It was such a strange thing for her that Dieter had a full on debate with his wife and a couple others on the topic, which eventually resulted in an "okay, I guess you can keep him...". For a while, Teagan was watched 24/7, but it soon became clear that Pipit had him in check. So, after a while, the hostility slacked up and his freedom was essentially returned (besides the girl being somewhat clingy towards him).
