Nara is the daughter of Ramdas and Fatima Qadir. Ramdas (more information on him can be found in the monster journal) is a young Elite witch who broke the rules and fell for a low social class witch. In secrecy, Ramdas and Fatima wed and had their only daughter Nara. It’s a romance story (if you ask Nara) the only downfall about her parent's story is that her father is a man who bends to peoples opinions about him. He is loud and charismatic but other people's opinions weigh heavier on him then it does on Nara, so Ramdas began “seeing” a high social class witch to whom he was supposed to be wedded to. This news was so distraught to Nara and Fatima that they lost their trust in Ramdas. Due to Fatima being an earth witch, she created a curse that bounded Ramdas in a cat form as a punishment for not sticking up for their family to the Elites. As a consequence of curing their own kind, the Qadir family was exiled from the witch society. Ramdas chose to abandon his Elite position in order to follow his wife and daughter in their new nomadic lifestyle. The small Qadir family has walked all over layer one selling medical care and assisting people, due to their nomadic lifestyle Nara became more open-minded than a typical witch.

Despite their constant traveling, Jonathan managed to find the small Qadir family during their temporary stay in the Earth and Air land. He offered to educate Nara in the ways of the first layer and act as her teacher; since she wasn’t being educated like how she used to be. Jonathan promised to educate her in the ways of combat and push her interest in understanding the world at his school. This enticed Fatima into allowing her daughter to go on her own adventure. Since the agreement, Nara has been living at the school with her father as her chaperon. He tagged along because he didn’t trust the deal that Jonathan was agreeing too. Much to Nara and Ramdas surprise, Romdas and Jonathan actually established a close friendship during Nara’s stay at school.
