Amber, sometimes called Amby, Ammy, or Bunny by friends. She is a water fae with the ability to shapeshift.
Design Info
All forms- most recognizable features are a white nose, big cowlick hair on top of head, blue eyes with a thick cateye lash, bushy eyebrows, recurring heart shape motifs in her design (ear tip shape, marking shapes on socks/chest/booty, pawpads), and very long floppy ears. Often wears a black bow, sometimes with a silver bell. A sharp lil snaggletooth can also show sometimes! She sometimes changes coat colours for the seasons (white for winter, calico for transition between regular to winter coat, see tabs) but since she is a shapeshifter, this is a purposefully done thing to make her feel more "natural". Sometimes she's too lazy or simply forgets!Anthro form- 5'4" / digitigrade, small feet/toes. retractable claws, medium-small chest (c-cup), chubby tummy and upper arms, thick thighs (bottom heavy build). likes to dress modestly in a cute and comfy style. sometimes wears red-rimmed glasses in this form.
Feral (fae form)- 2'4" when standing / most unique form. mostly cat/fox anatomy. has abnormally long prehensile ears with split tips, as well as long mermaid tail (it is fluffy and seal-like, not fishlike). has a smooth underbelly marking on tail. both feral forms have poofy chest fluff.
Feral (cabbit form)- 1'4" when sitting up on back legs / smol. mostly the same design elements as other forms except smaller and closer to rabbit anatomy. also has the largest feet (and short front legs), and only form which does not have the long side hair in front.
Kemono/Chibi Anthro form- 3'4"-5'4", depends on if meaning to be chibi or just simplified anthro. basically the same as anthro design, but more "cartoony", simplified and less anatomically correct. smooth chest. no fingered hands, paws but with a thumb if needed. tummy is just smooth and round without detailed creases. sometimes wears clothes but due to simplified design it is also appropriate to not wear any. sometimes wears red-rimmed glasses in this form.
Without sadness, no one could value true happiness.

Backstory
She once lived in the fae world as a water spirit, but fell through a faerie circle portal and found herself on Earth. Since she was from a dimension that normally didn't require a physical manifestation (it was upkept by magical and elemental energies), on Earth she found herself without a corporeal form at first. She started off as just a shapeless drop of magical water energy in the sea--traveling along waterways, exploring lakes and ponds, even getting to have an adventure in the clouds as essentially a raindrop. All the while, she observed many different creatures and plants and scenery, and learned about this new world. After having accumulated enough water elemental energy throughout her travels, she attempted to create a solid form for herself so she could properly communicate, befriend, and live amongst other creatures.
She never really fit in all that well, her forms were imperfect and her colours and proportions were way off, and she couldn't keep the length of her limbs consistent. The one thing she always would have right though was the colour of her eyes, always reflecting the natural colour of the lagoon she was first born in. Despite her flaws though, she made many wonderful friends that she cherishes, and they all just want her to be happy in whatever form she may be in. She eventually grew to feel more comfy being herself, and doesn't use her shapeshifting powers to look wholly different, only to adjust small personal things.
Her chosen form was inspired by characteristics of her favourites of many different creatures she would see visit her waters, most notably cats by residential areas, rabbits & foxes in forests, and seals on the beach. She has gone through many design changes as she figured out her identity. Currently, she primarily appears as a more natural-looking cabbit (cat/rabbit mix) as her exaggerated features in her fae form made her stand out a lot, and were a bit uncomfortable to travel with. She still occasionally uses her more magical fae form, which has the impossibly long ears + mermaid tail and the traits of cat, rabbit, fox, and seal. This "magical girl" form is probably her most iconic and recognizable! She prefers to stay most often in her unassuming cabbit form for convenience nowadays.
Character History/Other Info
I first drew her when I was around ~8 years old, but back then I didn't understand what a "fursona" was, so she was just a recurring character I would doodle. She was intended to be a pikachu/eevee mix with my favourite colour as a kid (sky blue, possibly inspired by vaporeon too??) She came back full swing and got her own design around 11/12 years old and her colour shifted to yellow-orange when I first learned that "Amber" could mean a specific colour (which then became my favourite lol).
In her reference images you may see a small watery/blobby form with standing ears + wings, that is my re-take on her first design I made as a child! She was initially a blue eevee-like fox with little chibi wings and pikachu cheeks. Her watery and blobby colours are sort of symbolizing how a water fae's first attempt at a form might look, plus the "wobbly/incompleteness" of her shape is intended to be a nod to my old initial design being an unskilled early digital drawing attempt by a child. Just a sort of cute silly in-world meta explanation for why old illustrations of her were less detailed and precise, because she was "learning" how to keep a form way back when!
My sona is a very special character to me and I will never ever trade her, please don't ask!
If you like or are inspired by this character, please do not copy several elements of her design! It's happened a few times before over the years with her fae (more fancy/childhood inspired) design specifically and it's heartbreaking, this character means the world to me now and throughout my formative years. I am not claiming to own all of her traits individually, but as a collective they make up this character as a whole, and she represents me! Inspiration is fine but there is a line that I ask others respectfully to not cross. Thank you ;;
Ben
[ partner ]
A fox/raccoon tanuki spirit. He's a bit of a mischevious sort. They have been through a lot both apart and together, and are always there for one another.
Ashe
[ good friend ]
Ashe, or Key as Amber often calls her. They've known each other for a good while, and have gotten to be good friends in the recent years!
Loh
[ bestie ]
Amber has known Loh for most of both of their lives. They are very close with a familial bond. They've been through a lot together, and things were once very difficult, but they made it through stronger on the other side. Amber's life as it is now is genuinely thanks to Loh's help and support over the years. It is something she may never be able to fully repay, but wants to try to anyways.
