kithood [ 0 - 6 moons ] >
    Lichenkit was the firstborn of Silverfeather and Eelspark's litter, followed by his brother Boulderkit and his sister Willowkit. All three of them were born relatively big, but that's about where the resemblances ended. It was quickly established that Lichenkit was the more energetic and reckless kit of the three, with Boulderkit and Willowkit being more mellow and relaxed. It made for an interesting trio.
    At the time of their birth, the clans were getting re-situated into their territories after the twoleg invasion. And for the first few moons of Lichenkit's life, everything seemed great! That is until half of CloudClan suddenly moved back in with MarshClan. Not that it bothered Lichenkit. In fact, he thought it was cool having more cats to talk to and play with, even if they didn't feel the same way.
    As Lichenkit grew older, he became more rambunctious and hard to care for. So it was no surprise that towards the end of his kithood, he was injured after going on an adventure in the camp and cutting his hind leg on a sharp stone. He hadn't realized it, though, going on about his day like nothing was wrong. And it continued to go unnoticed until Lichenkit was about to go to bed and Silverfeather caught sight of blood in his fur. Panicked, she quickly gathered him up and brought him to the medicine den, where Ryefeather treated his wound. But they were all confused. How come Lichenkit didn't feel the injury? Lichenkit was asked many questions, primarily about his day and how he was feeling, and he answered honestly. He thought everything was perfectly fine. He didn't realize that him not feeling the pain of the injury was an issue. Ryefeather figured it was just a fluke; Lichenkit was most likely hyped up on adrenaline and that blocked his ability to feel pain. He reassured Silverfeather with this and, reluctantly, his mother pushed away her worries as she guided her son back to the nursery for the night.
    Thankfully, the rest of Lichenkit's kithood went off without a hitch. He continued to grow, and his energy store only grew with it. By the time his and his littermates' apprenticeship ceremonies were around the corner, Silverfeather was ready to hand off her bundles of joy to the mentors and finally get a break.

apprenticeship [ 6 - 12 moons ] >
    His apprenticeship ceremony was his second favorite day of his life. Being called Lichenpaw for the first time was a wonderful experience, especially knowing that his energy would be going to something new! And he looked forward to training under his mentor, Badgerclaw. Despite the name, he had seen the old tom around camp. He was a senior warrior that had clearly been through his rounds, and he had even expressed that Lichenpaw would be his last apprentice. But that didn't make him any less excited to train the energetic young tom.
    At first, Lichenpaw's parents and his mentor worried that he and his littermates would have to been trained in the middle of a rogue issue. So when the Storm was driven off about a moon after their apprenticeship ceremonies, everyone was visibly relieved. CloudClan was able to leave MarshClan behind and finally return to their camp, hopefully for good. Lichenpaw was sad at first at their departure. He enjoyed having the extra friends around in the form of the CloudClan cats, but he also knew they would be happier back home, so he tried not to stay sad for too long.
    So, instead, Lichenpaw focused his attention on his training. He loved to work with Badgerclaw. He may have been old and not as lively as Lichenpaw was, but he knew how to crack a joke and enjoy life. Lichenpaw didn't know what he would do if he had another mentor, and he was forever grateful that Maskstar had given him such a wonderful one like Badgerclaw in the first place. Because of Badgerclaw, Lichenpaw's able to completely enjoy his training, all while still having fun.
    And then it happened again. While out on a hunting assessment, where Badgerclaw wanted to test Lichenpaw's abilities, the young apprentice got into a few messes. From stepping on a thorn to getting scratched up by a raging squirrel, Lichenpaw didn't notice a thing out of line. He went about his assessment like there was nothing wrong, and though he didn't come back with much to gloat about, he still had a wonderful time and felt he did well, despite the lack of prey. But Badgerclaw didn't focus on his success nor his failures. Rather, he was appalled at the cuts and injuries on Lichenpaw, especially the scratches on his face from the squirrel. He asked Lichenpaw what had happened, and the apprentice was confused. Was something wrong? He recalled the entire assessment in detail to his mentor, practically glossing over his incidents and injuries. Badgerclaw asked him to go back over those parts and then asked how he didn't feel anything. Lichenpaw mentioned that he felt a bit off about halfway through the assessment, his balance off-kilter and his paw a little funky, but otherwise felt great. His mentor asked him to lift his paw only to reveal the thorn.
    They went straight to the medicine den to get Lichenpaw treated. Just like when he was a kit, the apprentice was asked many questions about his injuries as his family gathered around him to listen. And his answers were the same. Ryefeather, unsure of how to diagnose him, ultimately came to the conclusion that Lichenpaw is unable to feel pain. Although he was only going off of the two times that Lichenpaw had to come to get healed, no one knew if there were times he had been injured and it went unnoticed. This freaked out his family. How were they supposed to combat this if Lichenpaw never knew when he was injured? Lichenpaw didn't think there was anything wrong, but everyone else disagreed with him. His sister, Willowpaw, stepped up and said she'd watch over Lichenpaw if her mentor would allow her. He didn't like the idea of hindering his sister's training for his health, but Lichenpaw had little room to talk anymore.
    The rest of his apprenticeship went alright, though. Badgerclaw and Willowpaw's mentor worked to arrange their training sessions together, to the point that Willowpaw became the closest clanmate that Lichenpaw had next to Badgerclaw. At first, he didn't really like being constantly supervised; he felt like every move he made he had to stop for the others to check him. It became a pain to deal with. But he started to get used to overtime. He was still progressing and growing, so he guessed it wasn't too bad. He just had to get through his training.

warriorhood [ 12 moons - present ] >
    Finally, the time came for him to become a warrior. It was the best day of his life, hearing his warrior name for the first time: Lichencloud. It felt so good on his own tongue, but to hear his clanmates chant it was even better. His brother was named Boulderfrost and his sister Willowpool, and standing beside them was the most amazing feeling. That wasn't to say Lichencloud wouldn't miss learning from Badgerclaw, especially when he came up and declared his retirement after the ceremony. But that just meant he could go see his old mentor in the elders' den now.
    On top of becoming a warrior, Ryefeather reluctantly allowed Lichencloud to be free of his supervision from his sister--that is, under the assumption that he would not do anything too dangerous. Lichencloud didn't know the definition of dangerous, but he still tried to keep that promise. Not that it helped; he could still see his sister watching him from a distance and sometimes following him. And Boulderfrost became the same, often joining him on patrols and working hard to keep him out of trouble.
    Shortly after his warrior ceremony, Maskstar went missing and Gullcry stepped up as leader. Ever the curious cat, Lichencloud wondered what the change in leadership would do for the clan. He was thankful it didn't seem to change much. Lichencloud managed to continue his life normally, with an injury here or there that would go unnoticed until one of his littermates or clanmates pointed it out. Things were doing well until one gathering seemed to change it all.
    Lichencloud had known about the conflicts between EmberClan and CloudClan. He hadn't attended the first gathering in which it all started, but he listened to the clan gossip like a hawk when it came to what happened at gatherings. But when Wildstar declared war on CloudClan for those issues, Lichencloud was surprised. He didn't think it was ever that bad. But here they were, in war, MarshClan allied to EmberClan and HailClan to CloudClan. Suddenly, his life was turned upside down.
    And then Ryefeather passed away. Lichencloud was never close to the medicine cat, but he appreciated everything that the older tom did for him. Without Ryefeather and his work, Lichencloud would maybe never have found out about his strange condition. But he also looks forward to seeing the new medicine cat, Tansyskip, in action. He wasn't much younger than Lichencloud, and though he seemed worried, the young warrior believed in him.
    Lichencloud has stayed out of the war as much as possible. Not on his account, but for his littermates' sakes. He knows they worry about him and what would happen if he went into an actual battle. Who knows what injuries he could collect without realizing it? Because of that, he spent a lot of his time helping prepare his clanmates for the battles instead. He became a battle partner in training or helped assist the apprentices when he could. If they didn't need him, he'd keep himself busy with hunting to keep the warriors fighting in his stead fed. He hopes he can be in one of the battles someday, but he knew it wouldn't be without one of his littermates at his heels.
