About
Ayato Mizu is the eldest of the Mizu Triplets, (aka the one born first), and is a genius prodigy with sharp wit and keen intellect. Nothing much is able to get past him. Though Ayato is shy and cautious, scarcely trusting anyone else except his own brothers and close friend Quentin.
He is imagined to be an OC/Canon Divergent version of the unknown character 'A' from Death Note, mentioned within Another Note, who was L's very first successor who tragically took his own life.

Summary
Their mother dying shortly after birth, the triplets' father viewed them as a burden and a curse for the loss of his wife. After some time he, too, passed. However the triplets were split up, with Wammy's House only being interested in Ayato for his clear smarts- he was taken away from his siblings, Haru and Mamoru. He struggled with this loss, being taken to England and made to study relentlessly as a prodigal child and hopeful detective successor. As a result of the situation, Ayato began to distrust everyone around him - save for one other person. Fellow resident in the orphanage, Q - otherwise known as Quentin Peters. The unfortunate and unlucky boy housed no ulterior motives, and the two kept eachother afloat as best they could. It would not be for some years until Ayato would manage to catch a lead on where his brothers had been taken to in Japan, pursuing after them and demanding he be allowed to go and reunite with them- however was denied permission to leave unexpectedly, so instead worked with Quentin in order to bring his brothers to him in England instead.
Ayato's keen wit is also the focal point of the incidents involving Yuuto and his elder brother Kagari. When Kagari was brought to the orphanage after years on the street and living rough, Yuuto's bright-shining personality and seemingly innocent (if a bit confusing) protective side over his brother couldn't cease the eldest triplet's suspicions. After Kagari was seemingly showing no signs of recovery, it was Ayato of whom took action and snuck into his room to communicate with him finally, after Yuuto continually disallowed him to even see anyone who spoke Japanese. After realising Yuuto was secretly sedating his own brother for no known reason, Ayato outed the chemical meister with help of his brothers before everyone else and ran him out of the establishment. From there on, Ayato became somewhat of a mentor for Kagari and occasionally helps where he can to help teach him English to provide better opportunities for him - while also pursing Yuuto on the run before he can cause more damage.
Design
Ayato has floppy and messy black hair and bright red eyes, which he shares with his brothers
All three brothers also have a face covered in freckles
Ayato chooses to wear soft and usually baggy clothing, his personal preference is turtleneck jumpers
While their personalities usually ensure they wear different clothes, Ayato tries to make sure he doesn't overlap their styles - as he isn't the most fond of getting mistaken (but will sometimes play along).
Trivia
• Ayato likes to go into Quentin's room and brainstorm curled up in his bed, while Quentin works.
• Ayato was the first triplet made, with Haru a year later and Mamoru the year after that.
• While the other two were renamed at one point, Ayato retains his original name decided on creation. His name was mostly chosen to coincide with with the naming themes of Death Note, where many students' aliases coincide with their true name.

Mamoru Mizu.
Mamoru is one of Ayato's brothers. Ayato is considerably more level-headed than his younger triplet, but the two get along extremely well - with Mamoru quick to scold Ayato if he thinks he's taking too much on himself.
Haru Mizu.
Haru is one of Ayato's brothers. Haru is bright and perky, and adores his brothers with all his heart. Quick to tears, he's often running to Ayato when Mamoru teases him aplenty. A little innocent, he likes to hang off of Ayato's words a lot.
Quentin Peters.
Quentin is Ayato's best friend. The two hang out in comfortable silence, as well as discuss theories and work together. While Ayato's siblings were still lost, Quentin was always there for him no matter what - and both try to look out of each other.
Yuuto Nakusu.
Looks can be deceiving. From the get go Ayato never values Yuuto highly, and is eventually proved right through his investigation into Yuuto's activities revolving his brother. The two eventually become declared enemies, with Ayato pursuing Yuuto across the country and eventually world to catch him.
