Why are they in a good mood today?

Sometimes all it takes is something small to make everything feel okay.

Before, things were looking to be a normal day; she woke up, ate a light breakfast, and was out the door without delay. No messages waited for her, and she skillfully avoided eye contact with her neighbors. For some reason though she found herself heading towards the nearby coffee shop.

She had been there a few times over the past few months, after quickly falling in love with their hot chocolate. Opening the door to the shop the bell chimed softly, and then,” Hello, welcome to—oh, hey Piper!” Beginning to smile, she greeted them, and approached the counter,” I’ve got your hot chocolate coming up, extra whipped cream and chocolate drizzle, right?” She was practically beaming,” That’s perfect, thank you so much!”

It felt wonderful, being remembered.
