Amiri's mother was killed trying to protect him when a new king took over her pride and tried to kill off the cubs of the previous king. She told him to run and he managed to escape, running as far as he could until his legs practically gave out on him. He was found by a loner hyena who took him in and raised him as his own. He lived among hyenas for a few years, growing up with them until he eventually left his clan in search of creating his own pride.
Within a few weeks, he had met two lionesses who decided to stay with him. He eventually established his own territory that he still rules to this day. He still sees his hyena adoptive father somewhat reguarly and is pretty tolerant of having hyenas around, disliking those who hate them. He has a mate and cubs now and enjoys his new life among his own kind.
