Luka is the headstrong and outgoing captain of the pirate ship Hiraeth. He's often very extroverted and friendly, and it's very rare for him to not enter a conversation. He can be very impulsive, his drive to do good in the world often overriding his own self-preservation; luckily he has crew members who can act as the common sense he often lacks.
One of his main character traits - and one of the most obvious things about him when one first meets him - is his bravery and confidence. Luka isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in, even if his opinions often get him in trouble; that's how he got most of his scars. Despite seeing some of the worst things the world has to offer, most of the time Luka is cheerful and friendly.
Luka has a strong moral code and can't stand the thought of others being mistreated, which is one of the main reasons that he travels. He's seen how humans treat others that are different from them and is justifiably wary around most of them. His desire to help others often leads to him being quite self-sacrificing.
Skills
WeaponsSword - Luka's preferred weapon for close combat; his physical strength lends itself well to broad, powerful strokes and stabs.
Pistols - Luka always carries a pair of pistols with him; these are what he uses for long range fighting.
Fighting StyleLuka's fighting style focuses on outright strength more so than strategy; he generally attempts to overpower and subdue his enemies quickly to minimize the amount of damage they can cause.
Connection to NatureBecause he is an elf, Luka has a higher connection to nature than others do. He can glean more information from his surroundings that a normal person would, and can faintly commune with plants.
Luka and his twin sister were abandoned as toddlers, as their mother wasn't able to keep them safe any more. Their mother left them with an older human couple she knew could be trusted, and that is where they were raised.
Luka considers this human couple to be his parents, and they are some of the only humans that he fully likes and trusts.
When Luka turned 20 he left home for good to make his way in the world; eventually he managed to purchase a ship and began recruiting others for his crew.
