Astrid is one of the main patrons of the curiosity shop, and comes off as cold and mysterious; those closer to her know she is actually warm and bubbly and her closed off demeanor comes from anxiety, not that she'd ever admit that to a stranger.
Astrid came into a lot of wealth from a young age and always felt a bit detached from the rest of society. Her interest in magic and unusual happenings led to her investing in the curiosity shop, though she doesn't visit while it's open. Instead, she meets with the researchers and archivists behind it and compares notes. Some people don't trust her much because finance is fickle and if she wanted, she could affect how the research operation or shopfront is run—and sometimes Astrid has strong opinions.
