Sunberry is a compassionate, dutiful healer. She takes the health of the clan very personally, and can often be found checking on patients well after their recovery — one may suspect that she's lonely, but she swears that she only wants to make sure her clanmates are safe and comfortable, and rebuffs most attempts to befriend her. She's withdrawn, and often leaves camp for long periods.

Casually, Sunberry is friendly and but distant. He will often end conversations abruptly, wandering away or zoning out. He's unabashed and does not like to lie or cheat. Prone to bursts of quiet fury, he will often mutter to himself while sorting herbs; the abrupt switch from angry murmuring to a friendly, welcoming cat when a clanmate enters his den has been described by some as unsettling.

His connection with StarClan is tentative and vague — he feels this is a result of his casual disregard for them as an adolescent. He feels, in some way, that his injury is a sort of divine punishment for his refusal to acknowledge their signs. He rarely receives direct signs or communications in dreams, and has never received a true prophecy or prediction to carry to his clan. It frightens him that the only omens he can see are so minute and easily missed. The magnitude of his duty to his clanmates is overwhelming and upsetting, and he tries not to dwell on the resentment he holds for being forced to shoulder it, or for being injured in the first place.

It can be pedantic about following the code and rules in general, out of a conviction that codebreakers could go to the place of no stars. It feels a personal responsibility for the souls of its clanmates, and takes its duty as their spiritual guide and healer very seriously. She spends much of her time exploring the territory, hyper-vigilant for omens; she feels that it is on her alone to notice them before they become dangerous, like the one that caused her own injury. She's very hard on herself when bad things happen due to her conviction that there is always a sign before an act of StarClan, and will obsessively comb through her memories for what she may have missed.
