Feronia was once a typical feral wolf with no self-consciousness, until one day her life was saved by a large raven-like being.
At that moment, the withering Great Guardian of the Forest Valley chose her to continue protecting the land in honor of life itself. As promised, she always wears the guardian's pelt in order to be bound & protected by its magic (including the ability to fly) and rejuvenate nature that has been lost.

She is highly empathetic and fiercely protective over all living things.

(The symbolism of her wearing the guardian's pelt (vs it being a part of her) represents that it is of Feronia's own choice to become a warden of nature.)
