Franklin was always sort of the weird one out. As a kid he wasn't exactly the most popular because he always had a strange fascination with anatomy and the dead. Franklin wanted to use his knowledge to help people, and eventually went to school to become a surgeon. He graduated top of his class and has become well known as the miracle doctor after never failing a procedure and seemingly doing the impossible. Despite his intimidating expression, Franklin is actually very sweet and sensitive.

Huge accomplishments aside, many don't know that Franklin is actually incredibly sick and likely doesn't have long left to live. He was helping with research on how to revert vampirism in chimereons, but an earthquake caused the untested serum to spill over his face. The effects included partial blindness, transparency of the skin, and random violent fits. Franklin doesn't think he can be cured, but only time will tell.
