Profile

Gargoyles evoke, to many, thoughts of lofty cathedrals covered in grotesque statues standing guard. Stone monsters said to come alive only at night, there to drive away evil forces - said by others to be trapped forces themselves. To others they evoke thoughts of certain comics and cartoons from the 90s.

Gremlin, however, is more like a house pet who simply freezes into a very deep sleep during daylight hours. By night she stalks about speaking with shadows and flapping uselessly tattered wings. With mannerisms akin to both a puppy and a housecat, she is both the best and worst of both worlds. She'll warm your feet, but bark incessantly at strangers. Adorably, she'll purr around your legs one moment; and knock everything off your table the next.

Human speech isn't a language Gremlin is capable of. Rather, she speaks in barks and trills, screeches and purrs. She chuffs, mewls, gurgles and yowls. If your cat or dog can make the sound, Gremlin probably can do... And some new ones to boot - sounds that are earily like rocks scraping together, or boulders falling off a cliff.

With a complete lack of understanding as to why it might creep some humans out, Gremlin has an affinity for playing with shadows. They, in turn, simply defy all logic around her. Shadows move of their own volition as if they have their own free will. They'll form shapes, play along with her. Some of them will follow her about for extended periods of time, taking on their own forms as if they become creatures in their own right! They even cause their own mischief....
