Ren grew up sailing the seas with her father and mother on their pirate ship fleet. She was about 10 years old when her mother's crew started telling her stories about how much better they were, making her uncomfortable because she was only half human thus only being half as cool as the crew and her mother was. Soon ,while being on the ship, a huge storm came. This storm was nothing like Ren had ever seen and tore the ship into two. She fell into the sea and woke up on a sandy beach after some unknown time had passed.

She was alone and starving, going on so many days without food or really any clean water to drink. She made her way around the island and found a small village on the other side of the island. She tried to get food any way she could but the moment the villagers saw her back with her lana pirates symbol- they shut her out, leaving the small half human alone to starve for a few more days , eating scraps from the garbage cans when she could get away with it. By the time the leader of the island had come back from a fishing trip- she was near death. The leader of the island scolded his fellow villagers about leaving anyone near death and nursed her back to health.

The leader, Zenzo , took the girl under his care but the villagers never really trusted her due to the stories they had heard about the pirates that was was oringially from. She was isolated for most of her childhood into her teenage years into early adulthood. She learned how to be sweet and caring from Zenzo but ruthless ( to protect herself) from the sea and her past with the crew of her mother's ship. She wasn't the island's defender and she rescued those from the sea's nasty grasp.She also often left on fishing trips with Zenzo so she could feel the water against her skin.

Ren Ichihara is a stubborn and prideful lady who carries many insecurities with her. She's funny and caring. Ren has a very open minded personailty- not seeing fishman greater then humans or vice versa. She is decently guarded however and hold herself to high standard, nearly too high for herself to achieve.

She is exceedingly kind and will go out of her way to make sure someone is cared for and happy, despite her not having not the best childhood to early adulthood years.

• Can swim fast like superfast and breathe underwater, rather strong.
• doodles for fun but they don't look great for she never shares them
• Likes to eat fruits the most.
• Can drink like a fish with beer but cant hold it together making for interesting moments with the crew
