Hatsu's Links
The fish may have an attitude problem, but Basil can't help but bring home anything that looks like it needs her. Plus, Jiko seems to know that Hatsu isn't the one to retort at . She controls the food supply.
Food bringer.... And she guesses she's not all that bad. Things could be worse, Hatsu could have said yes to buying a constellation cat, & damn, Jiko doesn't trust the way those things look at her.
While she wishes she could say she regrets buying the animal that sheds all over her house, when she sees her baby boy carry her around like royalty, she can't help but smile.
Mirangue knows that Hatsu is the only one that can catch her doing things she knows she isn't supposed to, like laying on the big beds, or climbing up on the windowsills, she also knows that if Basil is around she can still get away with it. Discipline only happens when she gets caught one on one.
Hatsu knows that Basil will always be too soft on the boy. Whether or not they'd adopted a boy or girl, Basil would always have spoiled them, & as such, Hatsu knows she has to be discipliner & real talk mom. She would love to toughen up her cute little boy, but it's not in his personality, so she doesn't worry about it much.
If he wants to feel refreshed, he goes to Basil, if Xan needs advice or to learn a life lesson, Hatsu is the mamma to see. She always is as straight with him as she can be. She won't sugar coat it, & he's always felt blessed to have such a supportive mom.
Basil is truly her opposite, but more importantly, her flower that brings color into each day. She couldn't even pretend to imagine a life with anyone else by her side. Basil truly brings out the best in her.
Basil feels more grounded with Hatsu, safe. Each day has it's ups & downs, & change is always happening, but she knows they can change together. Basil doesn't care what kind of checkered past Hatsu had, she just knows how much stronger their time together has been.
