Before the Incident
G has always lived in the Lab, with Lola as her supervisor/guardian. She was tasked with various miscellaneous chores and was always working to keep things in order. Due to her foresight and fighting abilities, she was often preventing breaches and keeping accidents from happening. Her life in the Lab was repetitive and as the years blended in together she became the person she is now: distant, emotionless and hardworking. She was conditioned into believing her only purpose was to be a tool without her own beliefs and aspirations.
After the Incident
One day when G was on duty, there was an accident in one of the test chambers. G cannot remember exactly what happened as of now, but she grew more paranoid and self aware after the matter. This is where she began having dreams for the first time ever of a life she was unfamiliar with, yet gave her a sense of nostalgia and curiosity. This was the catalyst for her to decide to finally escape the Lab and try seeing the world that had been kept away for her entire life.
The Hunt Begins
G's goal with her escape is to simply live freely in the City and find herself again. Once she's escaped with the help of Lola, she is guided via a communication device in order to navigate through the alleyways. These are the "Outskirts" of the main district, which are very dangerous and are a glorified wasteland. According to Lola, G is one of two people from the Lab who can "safely" leave the Outskirts and enter the Main District/City. Before departing the Outskirts, Lola instructs her to destroy the communication device to avoid being tracked. Her final words to G were a suggestion that sounded more like a request: "G... Look at the stars on the other side for me, would you?".
Lola was G's mentor figure for her entire time in the lab. She respects Lola fully and finds comfort in the fact that she supported her escape plans. Due to G's inability to form attachments, she feels otherwise indifferent about her. She cannot understand why Lola was so sad about her departure.
Robin is the first person G befriends in the story. Her friendly and compassionate nature initially makes G look down on her, but she soon becomes accustomed to it and realizes she has a lot to learn from her.
G absolutely despises Caldwell for being too emotional and "human". She sees him as a weak fool, and they often exchange rivalous banter.
