More About Them: Hard Rock Candy always had a passion for music, so much so that it was thought she'd follow in the footsteps of the Heartstring family and become a classical music expert. Hard Rock Candy would always end up spending time with her grandparents Plucked Heartstrings and Tickled Ivories, who would (against Lyra's wishes) sign Rocky up for lessons with high leveled professional players. Hard Rock Candy thought she liked it, she mostly liked spending time with her family since Bon Bon was always caught up with either work or training her older brother Jawbreaker who's pursuing a similar career while Lyra is a stay at home mom watching over her younger sibling. But as time went on Hard Rock Candy became miserable and her grandparents were becoming furious that she wasn't getting any better and not earning her cutie mark despite all of the instrument training she's had- she hadn't discovered that 'specialty'.

Hard Rock Candy was walking home from practice one day when she stumbled upon a music store blasting out music from a radio outside the shop, it was this loud, crude, and the ponies singing screeched lyrics that she couldn't even understand half the time- but Rocky became enamored with the more she listened to it. So much so that she ran into that music shop and demanded to know everything about that music, even was willing to sell her expensive violin to pick up a electric guitar to learn. She brought it home to show her mom and Lyra was happy to see her daughter actually beaming with joy instead of coming home drained of all her energy. Of course this decision made Hard Rock Candy's grandparents very angry, telling her that she was throwing her life and 'career' away for this thing, they tried to take away the electric guitar away and drag Rocky away to these lessons but for the first time Hard Rock Candy protested against the two. Lyra told her parents to leave, and she made sure to support her daughter in her passion as much as she possibly could, Bon Bon would do so as well after she had heard what happened.

It wasn't a surprise that as soon as Hard Rock Candy saw posters for auditions for a local band in Ponyville that she rushed down there as fast as she possibly could. She managed to ace that audition and got her spot as the lead guitarist on Jelly Jam's band! She brought a lot of light and laughter into the band's atmosphere, Rocky can instantly get the band motivated and up on their hooves when the mood is down or someone is losing confidence thanks to love and support she received from her parents. Though at times she can be like the annoying little sister, she's loved by all the members of the band- because who can't love her?
