Almond is your average prince preparing to inherit the throne. He leads a busy, sheltered, and decadent lifestyle. The country his family rules is a fairly prosperous merchant city-state. However, there is always unrest somewhere, and stronger countries surrounding them...
All princes must grow up someday, and when Almond discovers suffering, he is torn. He realizes that being a good king is usually not compatible with being a good person. Almond isn't bad at heart, but he decides that the kingdom comes first always, and will stop at nothing to preserve it.
When he's stressed, he needs to eat a slice of fine cake. It almost always cheers him up.
