As an action, you can magically assume the shape of a beast that you have seen before twice per short rest. [2nd] Max CR 1/4 (no flying or swimming speed) [4th] Max CR 1/2 (no flying speed) [8th] Max CR 1
You can stay in beast shape for 3 hours before reverting back to your normal form (or as a bonus action earlier or if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die).

- When you take a long rest, you must spend at least 6 hours in an inactive state rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Glaive is not the type to stay in one place for long. Always moving where the wind carries him, taking the days as they come. And occasionally coming back to his trusty mechanic Heinrich to get patched up. Maybe also going out to dinner with him and staying the night after Heinrich chews him out for acting reckless again.
He loves horses, as he once owned a horse named Disciple (even if he can't remember it anymore).
Far Traveler All Eyes On You
Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and perhaps even your appearance all mark you as foreign. Curious glances are directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands, to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager to hear stories of your homeland. You can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords, scholars, and merchant princes, to name a few, might be interested in hearing about your distant homeland and people.

I have a strong code of honor or sense of propriety that others don't comprehend.
Adventure. I'm far from home, and everything is strange and wonderful!
My freedom is my most precious possession. I' ll never let anyone take it from me again.
I have a weakness for the new intoxicants and other pleasures of this land.

- Note from Heinrich
- Glaive was once human, although many accidents have seen him replacing parts of himself with prosthetics and machinery to the point where he's now barely recognizable as organic. If there is anything left of his flesh and blood, Glaive won't say what or where it is.
- After a particularly high fall and damage to his headpiece, Glaive developed amnesia and forgot everything except what a horse is. New types of animals he meets are "weird horses".
- When he was fully organic, he looked kinda like Dean Winchester as a cowboy, although with long hair. I never watched the show but I've been informed there is A Lot of content fitting this description.
- When he wildshapes, his animal forms share his mechanical appearance and bronze plating.
- Glaive has killed multiple people by summoning wolves to devour them. He has no memory of this.

Heinrich Lover?
When Glaive rolls back into town with a smug metal face and a busted part, the two of them would cause havoc for a week until Glaive inevitable gets antsy and leaves again, always the man on the move. Heinrich watches him go, something heavy in his chest.
Bryan Friend
Bryan Gaylord Sterling is one of Glaive's party members. He kept Glaive stable after the man fell off some scaffolding and nearly killed himself, and is one of the party's two voices of reason. Glaive is not the other one.
Julian Lover?
After Glaive lost his memory, Julian began pretending that he was Glaive's husband, much to Heinrich's heartbreak when he heard the news. Whether he actually has feelings for Glaive or is just too deep in the act, no one knows.
