About
Gifted in the Magical arts, Solomon has been raised to be a magician. However, his motivation and interest in manifestation and creation dwindles each day as the lack of challenge brings him to utter boredom. In a world where magic and the holy church overcast the land Solomon finds a "hobby" in the dark knowledge of science.
As his reputation in the imperial court changes, Solomon makes an impression of himself. As a heretical influence. Sol pioneers a new age of thinking. His obsession with science brings forth new ideas and reinvention of the world. However as Solomon brings forth a new power he also brings forth a war against magic, the class system, and the church.
In the universe
Heavily inspired by Europe and Asia, The continental map of Unum Gratia, is full of a variety of cultures and tradition unique to each country. A historical world touched with fantasy, magic and its own advancements. Aesthetically set in the 19th century, Unum Gratia is not a primitive world but instead its lack of invention comes from reliance on a different source of power; magic. Unum Gratia is an imperial continent. Though there are many different countries they all follow the rule of one leader. the emperor.
Solomon is raised in the second largest country of Medeis. Inspired by the French country side, the people here are heavily reliant on magic as it is their way of life. The capital holds the largest magic academy where the most privilege and wealth attend and live in the city.
Society and class
Politics are the fundamentals in any historical setting. Class is based on nobility but power in the community is decided on magic prowess. The third voice in the world is the church as it guides the country toward god's will. If magical ability can give someone more influence than a noble then the Church's influence swamps both the magic society and nobility.
