Lilith Freudenberger

About

Lilith was born to Léonie Moreau (then Freudenberger), CEO of Moreau Automobile, and Alban Freudenberger, philosophy teacher at the Méru-la-Rouge high school. She spent quite a happy and fulfilling childhood, with her parents supporting her every hobby and nurturing her mind from a very young age. Her dad was always very keen on never leaving her questions unanswered, no matter the subject or time of the day, and took great pleasure in teaching her everything he knew about the world and its wonders. Both of her parents agreed to not send her to a nursery, and both of them took a part-time parental leave to properly care for and bond with her until Lilith entered kindergarten.

Lilith very quickly proved to be a bright and inquisitive child, but, while she always remained very gentle and benevolent towards her classmates, showed no interest in making friends all throughout elementary school, and very apparently enjoyed exploring the school yard and examining bugs and small animals. Some of her classmates started making fun of her for being so closed-off, and Lilith either didn’t react at all or just punched the most annoying ones, not fazed in any way to being punished for resorting to violence. She seemed to be content with just being close to her parents, and this close and open relationship they share might just be the reason she took their divorce so well despite being only 10 years old.
They took the time to reassure her and explain to her why they were divorcing and what changes to their routine were going to happen, and soon, Lilith went to live with her mum during the school year, and with her dad during vacations. She still spent time with her dad almost every week, either going out to museums or having a nice meal together.

On the first day of middle school, she was assigned a seat next to a lovely and shy girl named Élisée. The lesson being quite boring, they spent the entire class talking in little notes and quietly laughing together, and, at that moment, Lilith felt the eagerness to make a friend for the very first time. Since then, the both of them became inseparable and shared a strong and pure friendship, which could easily be mistaken for romantic love.
This, on top of the stigmas around Élisée’s religion, put the both of them in the direct line of fire of a lot of people in their town, teens and adults alike. If most of the time this harassment consisted of a few bad names being thrown around, there’s been a few times when the two friends actually had to physically defend themselves against some particularly spiteful people. Luckily, the more aggressive bullying seemed to have subsided as soon as they entered high school, as people were quickly made aware that Lilith was the daughter of one of the teachers there.
Nowadays, Lilith lives a rather peaceful life alongside her best friend and her parents, both of whom she now has the chance to see every day, either at school or at home.
