Fores is a private investigator, residing in the East of England. An ex-member of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Lawrence picks up cases that the force may consider "cold", "false" or ones that, in his experience, they turn away due to them being inadequate for the job.Â
He is frequently "plagued" by a past life that he can't put behind him— however, this is unknown to others. He spends his life retracing steps, feeling as if there's something that was unfinished, something was "lost"— and he can't go on knowing that there is something. Lawrence is smart, and he knows it, being crafty with words to get a leg upwards. He won't hesitate to do what he can to gain an advantage if it helps him get where he needs to be.
A private investigator who was once bright-eyed with optimism, now a reserved and methodical man. Lawrence became a private investigator after growing up in a place that was full of mystery: missing people posters were everywhere, stores would close down overnight, even the animals didn't seem quite right. This would encourage Lawrence to explore the woods and the town, making notes. He found a gem-like red pendant in the woods one day, and felt strangely drawn towards it.

- He has a number of bad habits, such as picking at his skin, any injuries/scabs, and a habitual smoker. He carries around an old Zippo-style lighter.

- Despite not being able to show it often, he shows affection best physically: occasional touches and hugs.
