Basil is a prick. He is the rudest, most entitled piece of work on the planet. He will gloat about anything, which in the end, is his downfall. No one genuinely likes him.
Basil wanted power, he wanted to gain more. He wanted to rule his father's kingdom. So, he murdered his father, poisoning his wine. Screaming for help as his father died no one suspected it was him. He then blamed Ives' for the murder, completely destroying their friendship. His mother knew of the poisoning and refused to act upon it. Instead, she locks herself up in the most isolated part of castle. There are rumours she has a female lover.
After the death of his father, Basil realised how hard running a kingdom really is. His Royal Advisor had told him to put more effort into the military and not the kingdom, causing the kingdom to become poor. Basil deeply regrets the murder of his father and wishes to repair the damage he'd done to his kingdom, his family and his friends.
Ives was a doctor at the palace where Basil lived. after a while they became quick friends. they were always seen together. its rumoured they had a relationship. After Ives was banished from the kingdom he has refused to talk to Basil.
