Cain is often very quiet, preferring to simply observe the situations happening around him. He is very devious and has a distaste for human beings. Even though he is fairly mature he still has a youthful wonder and curiousity about things, especially since being brought into the real world. He tends to get excited and amused easily, but overall is pretty laid back. Though he keeps himself shrouded in mystery, he is very well-liked among the other inhabitants of his world.
Cain is from the children's board game "Candy Land" that has grown evil and twisted from years of being neglected in a dusty attic. He lived in the Candy Cane Forest alone, preferring his own company and nothing else. When his world first began turning dark one of his closest friends couldn't handle it and went insane, decapitating Cain in a fit of dispair and then killing himself. Cain then took his decapitated head to the sweet grandmother-turned-witch of his world, who sewed it back on for him. The incident left him barely able to speak, due to the severing of his vocals chords. Much to his dismay, he was accidentally summoned to the human world through Scream's negligent attempt to contact Sid's father using, what he thought, was a Ouija board. Cain had developed a dislike for humans, thinking of them as being selfish and cruel, but upon seeing the immediate antics of the two that had just summoned him he was intrigued. He decided to stay in the human world for his own entertainment, quickly fascinated by the feast of music and movies surrounding him. Now he spends most of his time lurking around the house, watching his friends fall in and out of their crazy situations, while finding himself becoming more and more empathetic.
Cain finds Scream endlessly fascinating. Oddly enough, Scream is kind of terrified of Cain. Cain has seen Scream in his oblivious, blitzed state, but he has also seen the side of him that most people don't live to talk about. The fact that a human can be so split down the middle intrigues Cain and he prefers to stay around him whenever he gets bored.
Cain is more indifferent towards Sid and doesn't understand why he, as a demon, tries to hard to keep his temper under control. He does, over time, grow to admire Sid and considers him a good friend.
