Masochist. Because of his species, he is not able to feel emotions easily so he uses pain to confirm he is alive. He revels in pain and will cut himself using his own claws several times a day on a daily basis.

He is distant towards others but deep down wishes for a person who can make him feel alive (be it through pain or other means).
