Hedonistic, loves to hear itself talk, utterly unconcerned with the affairs of humans. It has a mission, but it's also on vacation until said mission can continue, and hell if it's not going to enjoy it.

Appearance

A massive centipede-like worm with a face made of knives and about 20 pale blue eyes. Its limbs are mostly humanoid arms, aside from a huge pair of mantis-like scythes at the front of its body. Inside its mouth are more humanoid hands, with too many joints.

Abyssal's true form is heavy and not built for land, and can only walk slowly. In the water, however, it is agile and fast. It is capable of surviving the crushing depths and extreme heat of the deep sea prison it guarded.

While possessing Esther's body, Abyssal styles itself as a high class socialite, wearing fine clothes, usually in red. Eyes tend to appear in odd places on its body without rhyme or reason. It is seemingly capable of warping space, because full sized appendages and even the entire worm can emerge from Esther's mouth without apparent damage to the meat body.

Relationships

Esther - The Abyssal currently inhabits her body, using it to move around and interact with human society without the alarming presence of a giant worm centipede. This is less because it's concerned for human mental wellbeing, and more for efficiency's sake. Abyssal believes itself quite generous and lenient by allowing Esther occasional control of her own body.

Zanza - Abyssal hunts Zanza relentlessly, finding and devouring anything containing a piece of the primordial creature. It will not rest until all of Zanza is together and can be returned to the deep sea containment it escaped from.

Story

Abyssal is the greatest of the worms guarding the deep sea prison/containment constructed for immortal, primordial beings like Zanza. It emerged in response to the creature's escape, and is on a mission to find and return it.

Trivia

• Originally created as a demon summoned by a cult Esther was part of before that version of the story was scrapped.
