About

Morgan does not remember much about his life prior to falling into the care of a stone-faced old hunter by the name of Clyvult. He was told that his parents perished tragically somehow but the details were closely guarded and he had mentally blocked it out for one reason or another, and that his life was to begin anew in a secluded cabin in the woods just on the other side of the Aluterian Mountain range. It was a lot for a boy who still had yet to hit puberty to process but, grandpa Cly as he came to be known, did not give him much time to dwell on it and immediately threw him into training so that he would be useful.

Under the tutelage of the stoic old man Morgan learned skills that would help him later on in life. He was taught to hunt and fish, as well as how to handle the parts of the creatures he killed so that he could make a living off of more than just their meat. He learned how to survive in the woods regardless of the season and how to track in any conditions. He was drilled on weapons and maintenance and, of course, instructed on a love of fine ale. His upbringing may not have been traditional but it was effective in shaping him into a capable man as opposed to the sniveling orphan that he was.

When he was of age, in spite of multiple protests from Cly, Morgan struck out on his own in order to join up with the military in Arawndon. While he had neither a name nor money to attend Rhyfel Academy in order to join the ranks of the elite in the military, they were more than happy to cast him as a grunt and take advantage of his skills. For a time that was his entire life until he wound up with a knee injury that put him out of commission for good. It was around this time that he received an offer from a group of traders to join up with the merchants and once more put his skills to use.

One of Morgan’s biggest regrets is that he did not return to the cabin before heading off on his next adventure for it was soon after that he received a missive outlining Cly’s death and his final wishes to leave all that he had to his adopted son. Although he had kept in touch via letters it had been years since he had actually gone to see the man who had raised him. Racked by guilt and smarting after the loss he threw himself more deeply into his work. Taking any and all offers and spending great spans of time out in the wilderness.

Eventually he caught the eye of a wealthy group who sought to add him to their ranks. Initially he accepted and, for a time, everything was great. He was making a good living and excelling in the eyes of those he worked for. However there was a dark underbelly to this group that, once discovered, caused him to walk away from this life entirely. Jaded and without purpose he returned to the cabin that Cly had left him to adopt a more simplistic lifestyle. He still hunts and fishes and trades, but on a much smaller scale than before and he tends to avoid dealings with people such as the ones he formerly worked for.

Impressions

Morgan is as close to a good ol’ boy as they come thanks to grandpa Cly’s influence. Boisterous, loyal and the perfect specimens of an outdoorsman. He doesn’t waste a lot of time futzing with his appearance which often presents him in a barbaric mountain man kind of way. He is grizzled looking with a deep, smooth timbre of a voice that just seems to fit him perfectly.

None of this is to say the he doesn’t practice good hygiene or that he is rude. He’s definitely amiable and sociable but in a way that many may not be familiar with. Outspoken and a bit rowdy at times there is definitely an uncivilized and wild quality to him.

Morgan is confident in himself and in his abilities so he holds himself with that sort of appeal. He’s been through a lot and each time he comes out the other side having learned something undoubtedly beneficial. Mistakes and missteps are how we learn so he doesn’t beat himself over the head when he messes up, unless it is something huge. He’s a very live in the moment and take nothing for granted type of guy.

Boris Volker ( Frisky Feline )

The Inquisitor is uptight and, quite frankly, grouchy. However he has incredibly soft ears in need of stroking and a tail that is just begging to be tugged on from time to time. Morgan enjoys giving the feline grief but that isn’t the only reason he hangs around him. Through their shared goal the Hunter hopes to obtain some form or other of redemption, although he may get more than he bargained for when it comes to walking side by side with this feisty feline who seems to have a greater effect on him than he realizes.
