Mike

Michael Tribbiani

Background 

Mike is an Italian American from New Jersey. His grandfather is the head a multinational corporation. He invested in Mikes future by having him learn many different languages at a young age. Mike knows English, Japanese, and Italian. As a teen, he often used his Japanese to play video games before they launched in the US and watch anime as it came out. Except for when his grandfather was around Mike could do pretty much whatever he wanted, and often would get into trouble with friends. Though Mike is a troublemaker and likes to goof around he is surprisingly bright. His grades tended to have larges fluxions do to inconsistent effort. His granddad saw that Mike was not focused and conveyed to his parents that a change of scenery would be for him, and it couldn't hurt to get him away from those delinquent friends of his.

Mike was put into a foreign exchange program and ended up shipped off to Japan. Mike is hosted by the Setsushis, who are a bit more involved parenting wise than he is used to but seem like good people. He and Tatsuya became fast friends once they discovered their mutual love of hockey. They even own an ice rink, “why fuck don’t you own an ice rink granddad!”

Since coming to Japan his grades have increased even though he still doesn't give school his all. His all is reserved for the rink. He and Tatsuya are such a good defensive combo that the team's goalie is rarely needed.

Though Mike can speak the language with relative ease he is still somewhat of a fish out of water when it comes to customs. He misses things from America more than the people there. He is still adjusting to the culinary differences between the USA and Japan.
