- tatsuya's family owns the local skating rink, and tatsuya has been skating there since he was little. because of this, he's friendly with kaito (maybe calls him kaito-san/kai-san)
- his family agrees to partake in the foreign exchange housing program, and the setsushis end up hosting mike. upon seeing they both enjoy hockey, the two get on well
- tatsuya likes figure skating as well as hockey and sometimes figure skates in his spare time
- he finds his bangs very annoying and thus, keeps them back with a handband, clip, or hair tie most of the time. for reasons unknown, he refuses to get them cut (probably childhood bowl hair cut trauma)
