Since he was young, Kumo's parents was emotionally distant from him. As they were busy with work, they rarely spent any time with him. Whenever his parents would talk to him, they would constantly lecture him the high expecations they have for him for the future. Instead of showing emotional care, his parents would give Kumo plush toys to play with instead. As these plush toys were the only thing there for Kumo. Thus he became attached to them, and kept them close to his heart.
Growing up, Kumo was unable to keep up with his parents high expectations. Disappointed in him his family eventually kicked him out of the house for being "a good for nothing" once he was 19. Hurt and disappointed in everything, Kumo felt doing anything was too troublesome and a pain. He seeked shelter in an alleyway. Using his sprinkit magic to form clouds, he was able to make a temporary shelter for himself. With only a bit of nyeni to feed himself for a bit, he needed to find a job. Walking around, he found a looking for workers sign. He decided to apply to the cafe as he was in need of nyeni. There he met Kazuya the owner of the shop. Going through the interview process, Kumo felt Kazuya was a lenient boss, so maybe this won't be so bad. Now with a job, Kumo was able to afford to live in a small apartment.
