Profile

Grey is the son of the leader of the Vargr pack in the mountains of Faerghus. He and a sickly half Vargr child, Nettle, became very close friends in their childhood and almost like brothers. However, Nettle was treated poorly by the rest of the pack, and eventually was outcast at a young age due to the fear around half Vargr. Grey, in an act of defiance, left the pack to protect Nettle and travel with him.

Grey hates just about everyone. He's sharp tongued, cynical, and aloof. He hates both humans and the tribe he came from. Deep down he's extremely conflicted between his emotions, as he views being Vargr as something to take pride in but his experience with his tribe goes against that. He does have a very strong sense of duty to protect the weak, no matter their race. Grey has strong views on this and thinks anyone who "wastes" or doesn't put their strength to use are an insult to those born without (like Nettle.)

His attitude can diminish at times, and he isn't all thorns and teeth. He absolutely loves bunnies, and he enjoys collecting jewelry (especially gold). He's also illiterate, and gets very defensive when this is brought up (as he's embarrassed). He's kind towards children.

Him and Nettle meet and preform tasks for a certain high ranking church official (👀) in exchange for access to scholarly materials. While Nettle seeks to better his knowledge and healing skills Grey has no care for such things.

Post timeskip, his conflicting feelings come to the surface and he doesn't know what to think about anyone. His tribe was obliterated by TWSITD and Nettle finally was fed up with his hatred towards humans. His attitude is replaced by confusion and sometimes even fear. Amber, a Vargr female who left the tribe before he did, tries to convince him to help rebuild their pack but he refuses.

Spoilers if you care lmao

Nettle dies at Gronder Field, and Grey is absolutely crushed by his death. However, his death moves something inside Grey and changes how he sees the world. His biases aren't gone, but he actively works to improve himself. He still refuses to lead the Vargr pack however, because after everything that's happened to him and the ones he loves he doesn't feel like he should be responsible for bringing them back together, instead implying Amber be the one to do so but promises to help her from the side.
