• An Imperial dragon Yokai from a royal family and a member of the four beasts- currently dwelling on earth in a faraway mountain
• Laid-back and carefree
• Secretive about his own life but enjoys talking about other people's lives- very observant
• Although he is known to be a fearsome and powerful deity, Kai appears to be a very benevolent and carefree person who is always in high spirits
• He is worshipped in shrines all over Japan, however it is often hard for people to believe that such a whimsical person is actually capable of accomplishing things 
• He likes to believe in the good of everybody, but has a sharp eye for those who should be punished
• Uses spirit essence to make himself more presentable to humans, not to their knowledge (short hair that covers one eye and a regular silk kimono, though most of the time his horns end up sticking out)
• In his God form, he has long hair and wears an elaborate yukata with rich colors; he usually doesn't revert to this form unless he attends important meetings with other deities (his manner is a lot more serious in this form)

❖ Backstory

Along with the Phoenix, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise, Kai is known as one of the Four Sacred Beasts representing the Dragon. The Sacred Beasts are deities that rule over the cardinal constellations of Asia and are known to be the most powerful beings in the Yōkai world. Unlike the other Gods, Kai decided to inhabit himself in the human world while toggling back and forth with the spiritual world. Because of this, the other Beasts are reluctant to call him one of themselves.
