Marive

Marive is an Alder (Alder = Elf in the setting) who accompanies Cerine as they crave through the world, working as Adventures. Adventures are explores, mercenaries and exterminators of magical „pests“. They work either alone or in groups and can be hired in various cities.

About him:

• 180cm/5'11"
• is nervous and hasn’t very high self esteem
• is usually kind, polite and timid
• is a capable sword fighter but is clumsy
• can use some fire magic (only explosions)
• has very messy hair, which can’t be fully tamed
• was cursed in his past
• the curse is two fold: 1.) it makes him immortal but causes any wound he gets to heal with ten times the pain it usually has if not healed immediately 2.) it causes terrible nightterros eating away his sanity if he doesn’t drink a certain medicine
• is the son of the long dead insane Alderking (Erlkönig) but no one except Cerine knows about it and he doesn’t want it to be known
• is real name is Marigond/ Marive is a nickname (Alder names work like Russian names with the given name and a nickname / some Alder nicknames are also used as given names and a member of the royal family would never have anyone but family address them with the nickname)
• is bisexual with a stronger preference for women

About his inventory:

• owns a cheap bag of holding, which has an upper limit
• his armor consists of parts of a whole set but the rest of it is lost

Relationships:

With Cerine:

• they travel together for many years (decades)
• has a crush on her but doesn’t dare to make a move as he believes she deserves better
• she provides the medicine to keep his nightterros in check
• isn’t entirely sure why she even stays with him

With Sharad:

• sees in him everything he is not
• feels a mix between jealousy and hopelessness towards him
• does get picked on by Sharad for being unusually small for an Alder

With Tarrin

• feels like a third wheel to her and her team
• notices that she knows that he keeps certain things a secret, which makes him anxious
• is surprised that she actually cares about him and his safety despite only needing Cerine on their journey
