Dal is ex-military

After doing one round of military service, in which he made it into the special forces, he eventually became disillusioned with the constant war and violence, so he quit after serving his term. He has been protesting the war and supporting efforts to make peace ever since. When the military tried to recruit him to create this special strike team, Dal refused. He resisted their attempts to pressure him to join until his old mentor persuaded him by pointing out that, if successful, completing missions with the strike team would save thousands of lives. Dal reluctantly agreed to go back.

Now, Dal is the leader. He is a physical fighter who specializes in nonlethal combat. The gun he carries uses special ammo that can either inject a stunning serum or deliver an electric shock. He's also really good at hand-to-hand combat and carries around a lot of zip ties with trackers on them so the army can pick up his targets and bring them to trial. He has a knife and an extra pistol that does lethal damage, but he only uses them for utility purposes or for hunting when the team has to travel across large stretches of land. He doesn't like killing, so he will do his absolute best to avoid it.
