ACT 1:
"I never did trust that old fortune teller..."
Egeon Rolphe, a name with a lot of infamy and yet mystery around it as well. The man was a well known conman in various locations around the globe, under multiple different names, disguises, and living situations. The only feature anyone could ever describe him by was his singular glass eye, a thing no one quite knows how he got. While running from yet another successful con turned manhunt, Egeon settled down in SpringTown to hide from his crimes, taking up yet another identity and working as a fortune teller in the carnival. There was always something off about him to the townsfolk, especially with the way he conducted himself so carefully. Getting into his personal life was difficult, and people didn't exactly trust the sketchy worker.
So, when Egeon left the town temporarily to attempt and conduct a con somewhere else, and ended up hung...No one was quite surprised to find out most of his life was a lie. When his true name ended up in the morning papers, it quickly became infamous among the people, feeling conned that their neighbor wasn't even who they thought he was.
Now adays, the ghoul ended up back at the carnival, though the others there couldn't tell you why he would choose to haunt the place. It doesn't matter. Egeon finds joy in predicting the future of others, even being somewhat successful. Although he also enjoys manipulating them to cause chaos, and occasionally mislead them to their dooms to the other ghouls of the carnival. To the old fortune teller, chaotic happenings are endlessly amusing, and misfortune to others even more-so. Always be wary of Egeon if you find yourself in his presence. Whether or not he's lying isn't always immediately obvious.
ACT 2:
"While I do enjoy chaos...This won't do."
Egeon recieved a vision, after practicing his magic more and more over three years, he had gotten quite good at his craft, even mellowing out just a little. Where once he would cause problems and be quite rude to others for fun--- don't get him wrong, chaos is still fun!--- he had become more of a voice of reason in the carnival. Odd how these things happen, no? Egeon would certainly agree.
Now, to recieve a vision of something befalling the carnival in the near future? That was quite quite odd. And true to his word, Fran and Rory soon came by with a warning and plan.
Ahhh...A true time to shine and have fun. Saving the carnival was good, yes...But think of all those humans coming in to see it run for one more night. All those futures, begging to be pulled and seen...
And perhaps a few tricks as well. Haha. The only rule was not to kill, not to play a dirty trick or two.
Perhaps with this event and protection of his home, Egeon could feel more comfortable leaving the carnival grounds for short periods of time. There is a lot out there, and not every ghoul is trapped to the carnival, after all.
Funny, what a family will do to you. Though he would never admit out-loud that he sees the others as family, oh no. Why blow up their egos like that?
