Blue was one of the many creations of American inventor Gabriel Dexter. Built in 1991, Blue was a marvel of modern robotics. Equipped with Gabriel's experimental AI, the robot was capable of speech recognition, sight, pathfinding, free roaming, and following basic voice commands. While revolutionary at the time, Blue was never unveiled to the public. Intended to be revealed at the party following Paradise Park's first year anniversary, Blue's reveal was cancelled after the park's sudden closure following three murders on the premises and the disappearance of the park's owner, Paul Weiss. Unfortunately, Gabriel's revolutionary discovery in robotics would never see the light of day, as Gabriel vanished mere weeks after the park's closure, leaving his legacy, and Blue, behind. All hope wasn't lost for Blue, however, as Gabriel's daughter soon found herself following in her father's footsteps. Violet committed herself to expanding upon her father's technology. With years of trial and error, Violet eventually developed an entirely new AI from the foundations of her father's work. Capable of speech, free roaming, vocal & facial recognition, and evaluating and then reacting accordingly to certain emotions based on an algorithm, Violet's AI program took off upon reveal in 2010, sparking discussion of what these AIs could be used for outside of a park mascot's body. Nowadays, Blue operates at children's hospitals throughout the western USA. Equipped with an AI almost capable of passing the Turing test, Blue's function is to provide comfort and entertainment to the children in the hospital. Built with a silicone skin layered underneath a thin fuzzy fabric, Blue's metal endoskeleton is formed of many plates varying in size, with the small plates that make up the face allowing Blue's body to convey whatever emotion his AI deems appropriate for the moment.
