Rylan is a very earnest person. He believes in the innate goodness of all creatures and doesn't doubt what they tell him. He has a menagerie of animal companions who he can call on in a pinch and never travels alone. Rylan wants to explore the world and help people.

His first memory is of dazedly walking out of the Forest of the Lost, of stumbling into town, of a kind farmer with a blurry face helping him to his feet. He cannot recall anything before this besides his name. He was the only one confused about the situation,. The farmer laughed as he explained the fey-touched, people of fey ancestry who wander out of the woods with no memories and nothing more than the clothes on their backs. It's why the farmer hadn't seemed bothered by Rylan's third eye. Rylan accepted this explanation and decided if he didn't have any old memories, he might as well make some new ones!
