history
Not having much family to call his own, Dunnock, or Nox, befriended a timid farmhand, Barley, in their early teens and have been inseparable since, viewing each other as the brother the other never had. Nox is even responsible for introducing Barley to his eventual wife, Saffron!
At some point in his youth, Nox became a sort of underground brawler and developed an odd, upbeat enthusiasm for the sport, almost to the point of it being jarring to serious competitors. He had a knack for showboating and flirting with fans, absolutely loving the attention. This passion for fighting would continue throughout his life.
When Barley and Saffron had their baby, Talon, Nox took it upon himself to temporarily live with the pair, putting his "job" on hold to help raise their child while they continued their farm work. This developed into Nox viewing Talon as the closest thing to a child he'd likely ever have. Talon, in turn, views him as a kind of "fun uncle."

A youthful, eccentric satyr by nature, most of what Nox does is influenced by positivity and good vibes and he’s rarely seen in a sour mood. Nox is a scrappy rough-houser, but it’s all in good fun in his eyes! The one thing he seems to really take seriously is music and he's a fairly skilled virtuoso in playing the fiddle (but not much else).
With his friendly, talkative attitude, Dunnock can definitely come off as a schmoozer, using his 'southern charms' to grab people's attention, particularly that of women. However, he has absolutely no ulterior motives for doing so; he's merely a people-pleaser!
