Soul Mutilation

His power is unknown to the world, and even those few that have witnessed it are unable to tell you what it is. He is able to feel the souls of others, and the more he knows about an individual, the more control he has when it comes to said individual. With enough knowledge of a person, he can drive them to insanity or even death: squeezing, tearing, mutilating the other's soul with his own and without lifting so much as a finger. It is a power he finds very intimate. He rarely uses it, but when he does, he makes sure to always look the victim in the eye, building upon the intimate moment.

Born into a middle class family with two sisters, Amin lived a fairly happy childhood. It became harder when his family moved to a new country, but they still managed well. It wasn't until the age of 16 when life became difficult. This was when his power emerged. Accidentally hurting one of his sisters, he was made to leave the house by his father. He had no ill will towards his father though, having seen the fear in the eyes of all his family. He did not want to cause those he loved any more harm. Out on the streets and in a new city, he made a close friend that he eventually moved in with. During this time, he also learned about superheroes and decided he wanted to become one. His friend, not knowing his power, was the biggest support, and Amin felt he could achieve this goal thanks to his friend. That was until a certain incident. The friend that was always supportive ripped that dream out from under him, calling him a monster. Lost and alone, his hope turned into hate and he grew to resent those that were held in the light. There was no such thing as hope, and he would prove that to the world.
