R0-Ham

Ham is not quite normal... it's lived a long time and seems to understand human speech. It cannot speak human speak...as far as it would have you know, but has been genetically engineered to live as long as possible with self-replicating and replacing cells. Meaning as well, that day to day Ham is almost entirely a new entity thanks to its contantly recycling cells. Despite this, he's very intelligent, and almost deceptively so- finding it funny to play stupid and act like he doesn't know a thing. (don't fall for his cute face lies). He will absolutely go to great lengths to cause trouble and chaos any chance he gets. 

R0, The robot is skittish and anxious (can you blame it? Its whole life lies in the hands of a tiny fragile rat). It speaks in simple generated phrases, sounding very clearly robotic. It goes to great length to avoid conflict or danger, despite the absolute chaotic energy of Ham's plots.

R0 and Ham are partners who were engineered in a lab together in a symbiotic relationship. R0 is the "Ball" itself, an artificial intelligence with the primary directive of 'survival'. Ham returns the favor by powering up the charging cells of the robotic ball as it runs, the natural kinetic energy keeping it functioning.

The Hamster ball is covered in extremely tiny circuts/transparent boards that make it function; and it has the ability to shape robotic nano-mesh attached to its surface into limbs and tools to suit whatever need is necessary for the unit/pair as a whole. This can be arms/legs, screwdrivers/ect. There is a limit of size in terms of what resources it has the ability to contribute to such limbs (it can only produce what it has accessible from its surface) but it counteracts this to some degree by having very thin extensions.

What a weird waste of taxpayer money.
