She easily accepted because money, fame, safety? Of course! It all happened when he was basically just born so it was easy to pass off like they had hidden a relationship or something, and by now the kingdom all believes he's the king's son

'Related' to an older prince character of mine (Joseph). They're cousins (through his parent's marriage, but nobody needs to know that) but his father and Joseph's father had a huge fight over the crown and eventually his father, the older one, just left overnight, bringing only the closest staff with him - in addition to half of the horses and carriages, of course. They travelled for a while and ended up starting their own kingdom, a much more welcoming and friendly one than his younger brother's kingdom would soon become, taken over by someone too young and greedy with power (because if you hold your ground, you always get what you want eventually, right?)
