Yalin

Yalin is an Onikin and daughter of one of their chieftains, who travels with Sharad, Tarrin and Talik through the world and later meets up with Cerine and Marive due to Tarrin having taken on a special adventure job.

Adventures are explores, mercenaries and exterminators of magical „pests“. They work either alone or in groups and can be hired in various cities.

Onikin are one of the races inhabiting the continent of Ganores. They live in the south and are separated in various clans. Since they're nomads following their herds of wild cows and wild sheep, they don't have only towns but one stronghold where the elderly live together with those who are unable to follow the herds (due to physical or mental disabilities). While there are always a view clans visiting and exchanging goods, once a year all clans meet in the stronghold, where a certain rituals are held and informations get exchanged.

About her:

• 230cm/7'7" without horns 241cm/7'11" with horns
• is an albino but doesn't get sunburn due to her kind having very thick skin
• is happy-go-lucky and fun loving
• likes to do competitions and always gets into them to win
• likes to drink and has the highes alcohol tolerance
• seems intimidating and like a person you don't want to cross but she's usually very forgiving unless innocent people got harmed
• speaks Ganorian (the common language) and knows the Whistle-language of her kind, which they use to communicate over their large herds
• is the second daughter of one of the more influential chieftains of her kind
• is very good at math and can solve complex calculations very fast without making mistakes
• knows how to treat wounds without magic and keep them clean until a healer (Tarrin) can take over
• is the muscle of the group
• the tattoos on her arm and legs are made with arcane-infused ink; they work as amplifiers for strength, speed and regeneration when activated (they also glow if activated); since they're made with magical ink they can't be removed or damaged in any way unless magic is directly applied to them
• prefers to fight with her fists but uses her battle axe against tougher enemies
• the pattern of the large shawl she wears warped around herself is indicative of her status and of what clan she belongs to
• the special braid and face paint are for special occasions (like certain holidays and rituals among her kind, as well as other festivity's of other races)
• is demisexual

About her inventory:

• has always some face paint with her
• carries a lock of hair of both her mother and father with herself as good-luck-charm (it's typical for the cultural of her kind if a child leaves the clan to go on adventures outside the Southern Plains)

Relationships:

With Cerine:

• thinks of her like a frail-looking flower with hidden thorns
• can sense her true potential (an ability typical for her kind) and has no problem trusting Cerine considering magical issues

With Marive:

• feels his potential to go down a very dark path and tries to nudge him away from it
• knows from one glance about his self-confidence issues

With Sharad:

• likes to get drunk with him and make a contest out of it
• loves to tease him by calling him Bunny because he lot's one of his ears, since it reminds her of a bunny with a straight and folded/bend ear
• is the one carrying him if he get's knocked out (either by fighting, drinking or annoying Tarrin too much)

With Tarrin:

• got her life saved by Tarrin and wanders since then with her around the world
• they often exchange thoughts and ask each other for advice on various topics
• respects Tarrin's decisions but tells her if she has doubts about her plans
