Takayuki Nekoya is a second year at Mishamari Upper Secondary School. He is the best player in the school's varsity baseball team, even though he dislikes practicing his baseball skills. Takayuki is fairly popular with his fellow students, especially so with his fellow teammates. He constantly hangs out with them, they're his best friends. He's very social, but quite bad at making romantic advances. He's mixed race, and takes pride of his American heritage, and wishes he could be a white boy like his cousin Zacharias.
Taka is the older brother of Lekki Nekoya, and the younger cousin of Zacharias Christianson. Taka is the golden child of his immediate family, although he doesn't really see it that way. When he was growing up, he worked very hard to do well in school and in baseball, so he sees the positive attention from his parents as a sort of victory. He sees Lekki being rude to him simply as her being jealous, rather than her lashing out from being neglected. He would like to be a good brother, but he thinks that Lekki is just being spiteful for no reason.
Takayuki likes going to school, not to go to any of his classes, of course, but to socialize with his friends. He's the star player of the baseball team, so he tends to get a lot of attention from his teammates, although most of the attention is from them having crushes on him rather than admiring his skill. Taka admires Raidon, the captain, but mostly hangs out with Hiroaki, since they have more in common.
- He is a bit on the muscular side, but is still pretty lean.
- He has a ton of freckles, not just on his face, but also on his chest, arms, legs, and back.
- His "blonde" hair is more on the yellow side because he dyed it poorly.
- Taka wishes he could be a singer, but his parents actively discourage his singing.

- Takayuki has a huge crush on the Occult Club president, but won't do anything about it because she's Lekki's friend.
- Taka has a bandage on his nose after getting hit in the face with a baseball.
- He tries to defend Lekki against people around strangers, but not near his friends or parents.
- His favorite dessert is apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
