This is my general ARPG human character, in some more fantasy settings he is also a werewolf/shifter.

Backstory:

Lekkal was raised in a small mountain town, bordering an expansive forest. The town consisted primarily of hunters and fishers, making their keep off of their hunts. When he was old enough, he was apprenticed out to a mercenary leader, in attempts of getting him a chance for a life other than hunting game. As he neared his teenage years he returned to his town, continuing hunting and trapping in the forests and the mountains. After some years of this calm life, he desired a return to the more adventurous and interesting life of mercenaries, heading out to a larger town, seeking odd jobs and tasks. Often he took up household jobs, careing for children or cooking, and as a bodyguard. He was never very picky on the jobs, however he tended to stray from harming innocents, those of less desireable actions he held no hesitations.

As he reached the age of 20 he set out once again in search of new work, and new hunting grounds. Occassionally returning to his home town to visit his two sisters and parents.
His relationship with them being reasonably well, being often welcomed home with open arms, leaving them any spare money and goods he could. He's treated a bit as a method of tease by his elder sisters, due to him being the youngest member of the small family.

Hunting Backstory:

Lekkal was raised in a small town at the base of a mountain, bordering an expansive forest. The town consisted primarily of hunters and fishers, making their keep off of their hunts. For most of his childhood and early teens Lekkal was constantly in the woods learning the art of hunting from his father and neighbors. He was taught to track even the most elusive beasts, from wolves, bears, boar, and deer among some examples. The people he trained under taught him to make traps, set traps as well as make more natural traps like pits, netting from rope and hemp, and to lure animals in close with calls and bait.

However emphasis was also placed on the necessity of balance, overhunting would leave many hungry over the cold months, or even allow other animals to take over the area and become ill or aggressive. As a hunter it was his responsibility to keep the balance, never hunting young or any animals with young. Any sick or diseased beasts were to be taken first, even if inedible, as to keep the other populations healthy and thriving.

After he’d returned from his training as a mercenary, he was given his own bow and sent on a hunt solo. The only objective was to take a beast following the standards that the hunters of the town abided by, and that taking a large animal wasn’t to be forced or expected, though was well celebrated and would be used in a feast prepared after the young hunter returned. This hunt often would span many miles and would put most of the young hunter’s abilities and skills to the test in both tracking and survival in the forests.

He was gone for nearly a week, at first searching the area near the town for any signs of animal presence, and eventually tracking a large stag through the mountain terrain and wearing it down. He dared not to attempt to kill it shortly after finding the beast, as it would likely flee and be lost, so he kept his determination and tracked the beast during the day, resting as night fell and continuing once the moon had reached its zenith. When the beast forages, he sat in wait, the moment would come where he could sneak upon it and deal the blow to finish it, and patience was always stressed while hunting. One could wait nearly half a day to even several days to encounter a beast, and those who tended to be impatient often lost their chance for a meal or hides.

Following his hunt, he prepared the stag for travel, gutting it to keep the meat fresh and snapping the legs to tie the sinews and allow the heavy animal to be carried with relatively more ease. As he reached the age of 20 he soon left his town to seek out new hunting grounds and further work, but frequently revisits to hear from his family and fellow hunters, sharing stories and tips.

Build: Average if not a bit shorter and stockier. Has an overall lean build and not too defined muscles.

Personality: Generally  taciturn and odd. Lekkal prefers to sit in the wilderness for days on  end hunting and socializing only with his jib. When with others he's  hard to get to talk, but can warm up after some prodding and become  quite talkative especially when it comes to animals. He hunts mostly for  sustenance and keep, but also due to rituals of his people, often  wearing hides of his favorite animals and leaving small shrines where he  fells his prey. He also never takes pregnant animals or those with  young, and only goes to mature or sick individuals as to maintain  balance.

History: Lekkal  grew up in a secluded village in the mountains, where most were either  hunters, foresters, or falconers. They trained a few horses for  transport and hunting, but generally most hunted by foot, or in groups.  At a young age, most of the village's youth were sent on coming of age  trials, where they hunted their spirit animal of sorts. Lekkal found  himself drawn to wolves, and after successfully completing his hunt, he  keeps the pelt of the same wolf about his shoulders.

He  believes the wolf guides him in hunting and gifts the young man his  senses and knowledge. The meat was offered to the village, and the bones  arranged in a small stone shrine hidden in the forests.

Once  he reached adulthood, he was allowed more freedoms, one of which  involved being allowed outside of the village's boundaries and off the  mountain. With a curious nature and wanderlust, he travels about to see  what he can, buying a jibita from the first town he came across, and  setting out farther into the ruins of the old world.
