About
Maddox’s shadow… “Shaddox,” if you will. (but please not Shad…) They later adopt the name Happy.
- They are able to take on pretty much any size or shape within reason, they are not naturally Maddox-shaped
- Their eyes can move to anywhere on their body; they do also blink but it kinda just looks like two dots flickering
- They can imitate voices and sounds to near perfect accuracy but there's always something off about their voice
- Friendly, naturally curious, somewhat mischievous, basically your average little sibling; cares deeply for Mad.
- Very shy around others but, like most children, can be very emotional (fits, tantrums, etc.)
- Imitative; copies gestures, repeats phrases and sounds, but unable to mimic expressions (they are not bothered by this)
- They are able to think independently from Mad but will rarely do so, they are nonconfrontational and are more likely to watch a situation unfold rather than interfere (unless, of course, it involves Mad)
- Since they don’t really have a face they usually express themself with body language or sounds, or sometimes just say how they’re feeling out loud(usually with one word like “happy” or “sad”)
- Terrified of hurting others they care about, they will apologize for any mistake they make, even if it’s something small. Their fingers were once sharp but they (painfully) filed them down to blunt round points in the hopes of never being able to harm anything/anyone with them
- They wish they were human; they’ve observed others their entire life, only ever being treated like a person by Mad sometime later
SPEECH
Their voice can be separated into three "tones," each having different characteristics but no understandable purpose other than regular speech.- TONE I - highest in pitch, incapable of speech but capable enough to make various sounds: clicking, whistling, tapping, gasping(as in surprise or in lack of breath); sounds can range from soothing to ear-piercing
- TONE II - mid-range pitch, capable of coherent speech, generally frail and wispy but can make larger sounds with some confidence
- TONE III - lowest in pitch, capable of speech (albeit distorted and grumbly), sounds usually resemble white noise or a clear low rumble, other sounds include gulping, creaking, or groaning
Design
Appearance
A solid black mass able to move both in a 3D space and on a 2D plane. They can control their size and shape at will but their body, eye color, and hands never change.
Notes
- Hex code for eyes is strictly #ff007c, the same as Mad’s eyes
- Hands remain the same no matter what shape it takes, though they can be hidden and false hands can be formed. Each hand had five blunt but pointy fingers.
The Shadow People
A subspecies of angel, usually manifestations of thoughts, ideas, feelings, motives, etc. Occasionally visible to non-mediums, though only briefly and never clearly. They tend to linger after the death of their origin, which can range from absolute hatred to the endless want for something greater. In this particular angel’s case…. it was something not so great(though ironically, they are the sweetest thing ever).
- They are smaller at birth and only grow vertically, they do not naturally have legs but they can form ones at will
- Extremely skilled at mimicking movements, voices, etc.
- Usually very reserved, they do not like attention or trouble
- Common form will have a halo that is attached to the main body, this can be hidden but never changed
- Able to move freely both between the spirit plane and material plane, and 2D and 3D spaces
- Do not have the sense of touch (or smell) but can still feel the warmth or coolness of an object or being, and vibrations (they tend to enjoy cats)
- Reaction time is insanely fast, why this is is unknown
Relationships
MADDOXBest friends!!! Basically siblings. They are always together. Happy enjoys Mad‘s company so much that it imitated their shape.
EDSELHe technically adopted them both. Two for one deal. Happy once tried to imitate Edsel’s voice (and did so fairly accurately) but he was deeply unsettled by this and Happy still feels bad about it.

- I can't listen to hyi without thinking of them
- Sometime in the future I plan to attempt a voice reel for them, though that will probably be difficult, they have a weird voice
