• They are very shy and don’t talk much; eye contact with them is sorta weird, you could not beat them in a staring contest if you tried
• They love comics and cartoons and have a small sketchbook that's been filled up for forever but they keep adding stuff to it please buy them a new sketchbook Edsel
• Their hair is actually pretty long but it curls up in a funny way, much like their mother's
• They have this kind of permanent expression where they either grin or frown, there are rarely in-betweens, this unnerves others sometimes but it is absolutely their best trait.
• They love their shadow very much, they are best friends!!
• They go to elementary school!! (I often draw them in their school uniform) They don’t have many friends there.
• Tends to hold onto items of sentimental value (like the wrapper of a candy a classmate gave them or fortunes from fortune cookies, etc.). They probably have a little box full of random stuff somewhere

• Edsel is Mad’s uncle; he‘s their legal guardian as of now.
• He doesn’t really understand non-binary things(or lgbtq+ things in general) but he tries to respect them, he’ll usually correct himself if he messes up. He is still learning.
• Full name is Edsel Roland Oberheim 
• Used to have a white Persian cat, he misses it dearly.
• He loves sweets. Like a lot. He would learn to bake if he had the motivation to.
• Probably appears intimidating or even creepy at first but he’s really just a goofy man who’s insecure about himself.
• Has a terrible fear of dogs, he can stand to be around some but it’s the big strays that make him nervous..
• He sometimes has a little smiley face pin on his suit, a gift from his therapist
• He makes a decent amount of money from his job but doesn’t spend it on anything other than basic living stuff, despite this he still lives in the same crappy apartment he moved into when he became an adult, which was definitely more than twenty years ago. 
• He is insecure about his age.
• Works with Vincent sometimes.
• Quit his dream of becoming an artist early on and became a police detective instead (it's the only thing he's good at); he has not painted since. 

Square Sine Sawtooth Arc
Maddox and Edsel first meet after the disappearance of Odette Moody. [Description is currently being re-written but it’s pretty much about a string of missing persons cases and also some weird angels that get way too attached to humans]

Cadenza Manor Arc
This takes place a year or so after the events of SSS. The two investigate the disappearance of a young couple, which lead them to Cadenza Manor, a seemingly normal establishment if you aren't able to see the abundance of angels and ghosts thriving there.
