Aria are living instruments made from old, discarded instruments that were either too damaged to use or stored until decay. To reduce waste and spread the joy of music to the more modern audience, Arias were made as a new musical product. Their voices and vocal range sound just like the instrument they came from.
Not much is known about Bernard before he was employed at the orphanage or why he became so withdrawn. He is very shy and he mostly sings for very young children and small animals. Being made from a Kalimba he plays very soothing music that sounds like a music box.
Rosealie, captivated by his prince-like appearance, often pulls him into her games usually consisting of the princess (her) going out to save the prince (him) from the grasp of the fearsome dragon (a plushie).
