Profile
About the character:
The Hero of Sunlight, The Knight of Sunflowers, Helian Solthus is a Chosen Hero who purposefully failed his mission. But a young boy at the age of 12, Helian set out on a quest to reignite his land's sun as it started to die. Along his journey, he gathered the other Celestial Warriors of legend to fight back the darkness and bring back the celestial bodies in the sky. However, after a long grueling journey filled with both misery and despair...the final revelation of their world's grand truth left the Celestial Warriors absolutely hopeless. As Helian prepared to end his journey...a radiant crown appeared to him and his group, offering them a chance to refuse this end of their story...if only they sacrificed their world. Helian, and the others, accepted without an ounce of hesitation and so a world was plunged to darkness...as Fatescar gained many new Vassals. Now Helian serves on the 19,991st Floor of Fatescar's Tower, his floor an infinite field of sunflowers. The only structures being a small hut in where Helian lives...and a crumbling monastery telling the story of his life.
Helian:
Quick Trait List: Meloncholy, distant, quiet, pensive, serious, loyal, astute.
Personality:
- Helian's journey to reignite his sun was one filled with great conflict and strife. Though there were bright moments, shining spots of hope, the weight of his travels combined with it's end have greatly scarred him emotionally. This, along with the memories of all the Heroes that came before him, have left him incredibly distant. He does no shirke away from contact with others, but he does not actively seek it, often preferring to sit alone on the roof of his home to watch his own sun set.
- Helian's travels have also left him with an immense sense of loyalty towards his comrades, which now blankets all Vassals within the Tower along with his veneration towards Fatescar. After enduring so much alongside others, it has left a deep impression of apperciation towards those who work with him. Additionally...the trama involving one of his former teammates who did not reach the end of their quest has resulted in him never leaving any teammates behind. Even if they would eventually be recovered, regardless.
- Despite Helian's young age, he does not display the usual youth and vigor one would find among regular people his age group. Rather, he always sounds very tired and despite his purposeful movements and steadfast gait...he doesn't particulary move with much hurry or energy. You will not find him joking off with even his former teammates, cracking jokes or playing pranks like he once did, smiling brightly all the while. His friends miss that.
- Despite his somber nature, never will you find Helian getting upset at anyone being energized around him. You won't find him purposefully trying to ruin other people's fun, attempting to ruin the happiness of those playing around him, or even casting an apathetic eye upon someone who asks him a heartfelt question about what it means to be a Hero. You'll see a rare flicker of energy in his eyes, maybe even joining in on the fun or even try to make things happier for those few precious moments. And when someone asks him what it means to be a hero, he'll look at them with the same sad smile he always gets as he answers honestly "A Hero is someone who has the courage to do what is right."
Physical Description:
- Helian is tanned all over, which is a hold over from his days farming for long hours beneath the dying sun of his world. The long hours were a result of getting more payment based on how much was harvested at the end of the day, with Helian saving up money for his eventual dream of leaving his village and exploring the world. When it was revealed he was the next "legendary hero of the sun", his dream of leaving his village was realized. His long travels along with training beneath the dying sun of his world helped it stay, the deep tan turning permanent when he took to power of the sun into himself.
- Helian's hair is a genetic marker and an immense rarity in the world that he's come from. As legend foretold, only once in every 100 years does a child appear who possesses hair that appears spun from fine gold. It was only slightly curly when he first started his journey, that small bit that's hanging down the front of his face having been much smaller. Now as he's older, he's grown it out and the rest of the hair beneath his helm is just as much in the way of curls.
- Helian's built as musculature goes. His life farming helped create the ground work for the great strength his training in knighthood would provide. His experience hefting heavy armor and immense swords worked out his entire body, his body toned and musculature scuplted in such a fashion that he's quite the sight without any of his armor on. Of course, so much muscle on top of the other factors his physique possesses has lead to a strangely disporpotionate weight for what most people would find "normal".
Special Abilities:
Twilight Memories - When Helian took the power of the Sol Engine into himself, he also took the memories of every other Hero of the Sun into himself. Millions upon millions of lives long forgotten from memory, taken in by Helian himself as he absorbed all that power. As a result, Helian has the knowledge of untold aeons and legendary heros flowing through his mind. This, on top of the already awe-inspiring talent he had to reach the Sol Engine to begin with is what helped secure his position as one of the Top Ten Vassals in Fatescar's Tower.
A Hero's Sol - On top of absorbing the experiences of every prior Hero of the Sun, Helian additionally absorbed all the life energy that had been fueling the Sol Engine's progessively more needy inner workings. As a result, Helian took within himself not the power of just one sun...but the exponetial power of every sun that had come from the first. This allows Helian to manifest a very special appearence when he unleashes the power, using the raw unbridled cosmic power that he usually surpresses. This combined with his Twilight Memories is what helps keep his position as the Vassal of the 19,991st Floor of Fatescar's Tower.
